The Blessing Team

Last week I hosted a wonderful team from Vancouver, Canada. It was quite a diverse team with 5 Chinese-Canadians and 1 white Canadian, led by an American serving Costa Ricans. We all had to have a lot of grace and we were stretched. God used this group in amazing ways to work alongside of the CFCI ministries. We stayed at the Renacer rehab center working with the girls and eating lots! I had my first experience eating Nanaimo bars, a wonderful Canadian treat that I hope to have again soon! We also served in La Carpio and Transformation ministries doing dental work for the marginal communities where these ministries serve. It was an incredible week of growth and God was glorified!

Taylor Friends

As I go through life, I have learned that some friends are people that you meet who share a special time in your life. However, there are some friendships that pass beyond time and circumstances and they are precious beyond words. My friendship with four amazing women who I have laughed and cried with would be those kinds of friends. Although we are no longer crying over heartaches and homework as we did at Taylor because God has blessed each of us with godly, loving husbands, we do cry about the fact that our time together is too short. We laugh at the wonderful memories and new ones made each time that we are together. Thank you, Sara, Christie, Lori and Leslie for loving unconditionally and deeply from the heart. I love you!

Farewell to Carlos & Rosario our CFCI-Costa Rica Base Directors

Kellie & the Short Term Individuals of Summer 2006

We are still here!

Many of you are probably thinking that we´ve fallen off the face of the earth...but no, we are still in Costa Rica! And, praise the Lord for that! I´m just going to give a really brief update so as not to try to recount everything that has happened since that last time I blogged.

Orlando continues to be busy at seminary. He has about a year left to finish his mission´s degree. Then, it will be into real life ministry! He is interested in getting involved in one of CFCI ministries called Transformation. The focus is on marginal communities and providing preventitive programs for children and teens. One of the communities in which we are working is called Guararí. Guararí holds a special place in our hearts because there are two precious girls who live there who spend about one weekend a month at our home. I´m including some photos of the fun times we´ve had with them.

Kellie is still coordinator for Personnel at the CFCI Costa Rica base and is also directing the Short Term Ministry Department. A lot of her job is administrative, but she always enjoys getting out to visit ministries and work with short-termers who come down for a few months at a time.

Well, they say the pictures speak 100 words, so I´ll leave my photos to do the rest of the talking! We love you!
